Eric Yopp  |  COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Eric serves as a Compliance Officer for The Integrity Group and is actively involved in the company’s service offerings through Blue Sky Florida (Emergency Mgt.); Detail Prime (Secondary Duty Services); and Capital Assurance Professionals (corporate & governmental compliance services).

Eric began his law enforcement career in 1986 as a patrol officer and member of the SWAT team with the Largo Police Department. In 1989 he joined the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office where he served as a patrol deputy, marine unit deputy, member of SWAT and the Street Crimes Task Force. He also served as a detective in the Juvenile Services and Criminal Investigations Divisions.

In 1999, Eric joined the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) as a Special Agent in the Protective Operations Section assigned to protect the Governor of Florida, his family and dignitaries. A year later, he was promoted to Team Leader, where his responsibilities included the:  supervision, training and scheduling of special agents and all protection operations personnel; advance travel security assessments; coordinating event security, international and domestic travel; investigating threats; evaluating and suggesting enhancements to the security of the Florida Capitol Building and Governor’s Mansion; and aiding local agencies in response to civil disturbances and natural disasters.

In 2002, Eric transferred to the Tallahassee Regional Operations Center (TROC) where he served on the Major Drug, Violent Crime and Domestic Security Squads; and he was promoted to Special Agent Supervisor in 2008.  Between 2008 and 2010, Eric coordinated multi-jurisdictional state and federal domestic security investigations of threats against the State of Florida and the United States.

From 2010 through 2015, Eric served as the Special Agent Supervisor of the: Economic Crime/Public Integrity and Criminal Analyst Squads; Organized Crime Squad; and the Statewide Investigative and Forensic Science Section of FDLE.

In 2015 Eric was promoted to Deputy Director of the FDLE Capitol Police, overseeing law enforcement operations at the Florida Capitol and state facilities. In 2017 Eric accepted the position of Deputy Director of the FDLE Criminal Justice and Professionalism Division, responsible for overseeing: the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute; sworn training statewide to include the Special Agent Training Academy; and Coordination of the Office of the Governor Medical Examiners Commission.  During this time, he also served as the Accreditation Manager for Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and Commission for Florida Accreditation (CFA).   

Eric is a NRA firearm instructor and Criminal Justice Standards & Training Commission (CJSTC) certified firearms, defensive tactics, and general instructor. His career highlights are listed below:

Coordinated the activities for two Gubernatorial Inaugurations; the Republican National Convention; and the Free Trade of Americas, Miami as the Deputy Operations Chief;

Shared responsibility for the nighttime Florida Public Safety Institute Police Academy as a Coordinator from 2012-2015;

Worked as the Case Agent for an International Human Trafficking/ Sex Trafficking case, which is being used as a case study in the Florida Police Academy textbook; and

Served as a guest lecturer at Florida State University Human Rights Summit.

Eric is an active member of State Law Enforcement Chiefs Association.
